Our team were able to obtain a reputation critical Telecommunication Accreditation with complex management strategies for assets worth in excess of 27 billion dollars.
Telecommunication Trunk Infrastructure National Accreditation (TTI ONRSR Accreditation)
Members of our team successfully obtained National Accreditation for VicTrack’s Telecommunication Trunk Infrastructure (TTI).
The successful delivery of the project meant that VicTrack held onto 27-billion-dollars of assets – which otherwise would have been transferred to MTM who already hold the Rolling Stock Accreditation.
We worked alongside the Office of the National Rail Safety Regulator (ONRSR) to obtain the accreditation. VicTrack had become the only metropolitan accredited agency of its kind in Australia to split up the TTI & Rolling Stock Accreditation.
The TTI Accreditation introduced cultural changes within the VicTrack organisation. As part of the accreditation it was critical that we implement an Asset Management Strategy, Staff Competency Framework, and organizational style guide mandatory for the accreditation.
The TTI Accreditation meant that VicTrack did not need to split up its Telecommunications department. They were able to retain the $400 million-dollar revenue stream which was used to continue to add value in the maintenance of their assets.
Digital Train Radio System (DTRS)
The Analogue to Digital Train Radio System (DTRS) upgrade was an existing project that had been running for 7 years. VicTrack was in urgent need to deliver the project to completion within 8 months meeting the Governments agreed timeline.
The project was part of a 300-million-dollar programme that spanned across Victoria’s 16 train lines on the Metro rail network.
Our Senior Project Manager was able to baseline the project, establish the current defects (that ranged in the thousands), work with Vendors (such as Nokia Siemens) and the internal radio engineering team to complete the critical components to go live.
A major achievement of the project was to rollout mobile phone carrier communications (mobile phone services) into Melbourne’s City Loop. The Hon Jacinta Allan, Minister for Public Transport officially launched the DTRS in the City Loop that had been discussed for over 17 years prior.
